Microsoft je počeo sa pripremanjem Service Pack 2 za Windows Vista. Trenutno je tek u beta fazi i dat je na testiranje odabranim "beta testerima".
Još uvek je daleko za obične smrtnike, ali se već uveliko radi na tome...

Earlier this month, speculation that Microsoft would soon seed select testers with a beta of Vista SP2 began after users noticed that the company had added a placeholder to its support database for the service packs for both Vista and Windows Server 2008.
Others, including blogger Mary-Jo Foley, have confirmed the Neowin.net reports. In a post last week, Foley said that a few testers had already received Vista SP2 betas, and that Microsoft wanted to issue the service pack before it released Windows 7, Vista's successor.

Vista sp1 radi veoma stabilno mislim da ce dodati samo ono sto je novo izaslo za vistu od pojave SP1 a da vecinu stvari cuvaju za Windows 7 mozda i malo smanje zahtevnost viste sobzirom da mnogi jos uvek drze XP u nemogucnosti da promene hardwer a i vista kosta koliko jedan racunar nizih performansi ,tako da ce morati da urade nesto po tom pitanju .

Slazem se sa Zonicom. NEznam meni je nekako bas gluposti dodati taj sp2 kad na sp1 ima sve sto mi treba, jos samo odem na windows update i sve se samo skine sto mi treba!

Isti slučaj će biti i sa SP2 kada bude finalna verzija i on će se sam instalirati preko Windows Update, kao što se sada instalira SP1 (ili SP3 za XP).
Osnovna poenta Service Packa je uglavnom da na jednom mestu sadrži ispravke svih, u međuvremenu uočenih, propusta (sigurnosnih i ostalih) a ponekad se i dodaje ponešto od funkcionalnosti na već postojeće funkcije OS-a.
Mislim da je bespredmetno uopšte i razmišljati da li ga treba instalirati, jer dosadašnja iskustva pokazuju da vremenom i prateći programi zahtevaju da OS bude ažuriran. Većina softvera za XP podrazumeva da je bar SP2 instaliran, a na "golu" prvu verziju XP neki programi čak više ni ne mogu da se instaliraju...

The release which has the build number 6002.16489 has a size between 290.7 MB to 296.9 MB. It contains all released updates but no obvious changes or additional features according to http://www.withinwindows.com/2...ild-16489-released-to-testers/ izgleda da nisu bas odusevljeni .

^ Još uvek je jako rano za bilo kakve komentare... ne vidim kakvo bi to oduševljenje i moglo da se očekuje od rane beta faze

Recimo ja ocekujem da u vistui SP2 ugrade DX10.1 kako bih iskoristio mogucnost graficke kartice ATI 4850 ili to vec postoji samo ne mogu da nadjem mozda jos nije zavrseno .

Kompanija Microsoft saopštila je da će uskoro početi da isporučuje servisni paket 2 (SP2) za svoj novi operativni sistem Windows Vistu. Radi se o privatnoj beta verziji servisnog paketa koja će za vreme Microsoftove konferencije za programere (Professional Developers Conference, PDC), koja se iduće nedelje održava u Los Anđelesu biti isporučena ograničenom broju beta ispitivača. U servisnom paketu 2 za Windows Vistu će se nalaziti i ranije objavljene softverske zakrpe koje ispravljaju probleme sa pouzdanošću i kompatibilnošću operativnog sistema. Nove mogućnosti koje se nalaze u okviru servisnog paketa odnose se na alatku Windows Search 4.0, poboljšanu podršku za Bluetooth i format Blu-ray, kao i na tehnologiju Windows Connect Now, koja pojednostavljuje konfiguraciju Wi-Fi mreža. Osim toga, tehnologija Windows Connect Now omogućava i podršku za naprednu sinhronizaciju datoteka, bez obzira na lokaciju, odnosno vremensku zonu u kojoj se nalaze korisnici tih datoteka. Predstavnici Microsofta izjavili su da datum zvaničnog pojavljivanja druge beta verzije servisnog paketa za Windows Vistu još uvek nije određen. Istovremeno, odbili su i da komentarišu najave pojedinih analitičara da će Microsoft na konferenciji PDC predstaviti prvu verziju novog operativnog sistema Windows 7, koji treba da nasledi Windows Vistu. Izgleda da se stvari sa SP2 za Vistu / Server 2008 odvijaju brže nego što je iko očekivao:

Early reports indicate that performance has been improved yet again with this service pack.

The various .iso images posted weigh in between 1GB and 4GB, but testers can also install the early build of SP2 over Windows Update (41MB for Vista 32bit, 47MB for Server 2008 32bit, 60MB for Vista 64bit, and 90MB for Server 2008 64bit). The final version of the standalone installer will weigh in at about 302MB for the 32-bit 5-language package, 390MB for the 32-bit 36-language package, 508MB for the 64-bit 5-language package, and 622MB for the 64-bit 36-language package. These are estimates but are unlikely to change significantly, unless testers force Microsoft to make major changes before release.

Mali prilog , evo u ovom dokumentu vec pise sta je novo i koja je velicina SP2 .

Nije vazno odakle mi ova instalacija ali samo me interesuje nasta bih trebao da obratim paznju i uverim se da je ovo zaista prava instalacija Viste sp2 64 bit instalirana za probu u VMware Workstation:

Nova predvidjanja "obavestenih krugova" su da ce SP2 stici ranije nego sto se ocekivalo

Microsoft has announced that Vista Service Pack 2 will be made available to the public tomorrow.

The Redmond giant opened beta testing back in October to a small group of Technology Adoption Program customers, however it has now announced the general public will be offered the beta through Windows Update.

Disk images and stand alone downloads will be added Thursday to both TechNet and MSDN, though Microsoft has warned casual users away from the download.

"The customer preview program is intended for technology enthusiasts, developers, and IT pros who would like to test Service Pack 2 in their environments and with their applications prior to final release," says Microsoft vice president Mike Nash. "For most customers, our best advice would be to wait until the final release prior to installing this service pack."

The service pack updates Vista and Windows Server 2008, bringing a host of performance tweaks, as well as support for Blu-ray and Bluetooth 2.1.

Microsoft expects to ship the service pack in the first half of next year.

Imam malo respekta od ovog , prosli put sa SP1 mi je riknula vista kad sam hteo da je nadogradim cela instalacija sa sp1 je mnogo bolje prosla sad radi kao zmaj ,da li je bolje sacekati celu instalaciju sa ugradjenim SP2 ?

Windows Vistu Ili volite ili mrzite. Ipak, sve je više i više Vista korisnika u svijetu. U posljednih 12 mjeseci Windows Vista beleži porast od 297%. Rekordna cifra je zabelžena u junu, sa porastom od čak 16.14%.

Evo ja sam startovao download pa cu da testiram sp2, mada ja imam licenciranu vistu i skoro svaki dan imam neki upgrade, cenim da je to sve vec u sp2. Videcemo kako ce se situacija odvijati, taman kad izadje final docice windows 7 ;)
