Ja koristim ProE i AW Mayu ili Studio Tools - Sada ProE ima export u native format za Aliasove proizvode. Format se zove *.obj Pazi ja nemam sta da dokazujem - ja to koristim od kako se maja pojavila - znaci 98-99. Do sada sam imao problema jer je Iges nesavrsen, pa su morale da dolaze neke kombinacije u konvertovanju. Sada - to je maciji kasalj. To bi bio generalno moj odgovor - ali! U tvom pitanju ima mnogo rupa
NPR Cemu sluzi ta konverzija, nastavku rada na tom projektu ili su u pitanju prezentacione svrhe. Ako je za prezentaciju onda je ok, ali ako zelis da nastavis da radis - Pa onda se javljaju problemi - jer formati koji su dostupni nisu native (a igs je najpoznatiji) tako da na primer mozes iz ProA izvesti nesto u studio , ali dobijas ga kao skupinu povrsi - mozes nastaviti raditi na njemu ali kad ga budes vratio u ProE - geometriju ces morati da proveravas ........... itd itd
Pazi maja je za prezentaqciju, a studio za neki dodatni razvoj - ali posto je u novom ProU stajl tako dobra, ja vise skoro da nemam potrebe da startujem studio tools (kad kazem studio mislim na AW Studio Tools - a ne na 3D Studio Max) osim u slucaju prezentacionih crteza jer mi studio tools omogucava da crtam po 3d modelu - u 3d ! Uz Wacomovu tablicu to je sjajna kombinacija!

About Studio Tools
Studio is one powerful program for industrial design, computer animation etc. Sometimes I use them for research when I am working on some cases because ProE is not program created for play. If you don’t know what you want to create from first, than you must start working and solve problems in fly. Sometimes that can use huge amount of time, and because of that sometimes I use others programs beside of ProE. ProE is main and will be main program for me beside they trying to change them (wildfire) but I think that this version – 2001 – is so powerful, that I will not have need for changing 2001 to wildfire or something else, in next maybe year, or several years.
Lets back on Studio Tools
Not solid and mainly based on surfaces created models. That gives you power, but by using style in ProE, you get same, maybe even better, because using reference you can simply control your model very good. After using style you can use thin protrusion – use quilt, and make from those surfaces solid, and continues to play with them

. Studio is in some cases easier, but I like strategy, and that means that you must be very good planning man to make good strategy of work in ProE. Your Experience counts in that cases and can be very important. AW – Alias Wavefront is division of Silicon Graphic – That tells all to older people because Silicon Graphic is synonym for good, better, best

. AW Studio Tools is older brother of AW Maya. I have heard for studio year 1995, and then he vas such powerful tool. Then he was been on Unix, and today you can find them for Mac, Unix, Linux and Win Operating Systems. Maya was created mainly using advances of Studio, but directed in some other path – mainly animation, good design – modelling tools (far away from older brother and not to speak about ProE), special effects, dynamic + fur, montage etc. Rendering is very good in Studio – even today he has something Maya programmers (if those are different people) didn’t succeed to implement in. Trying to compare I will put things like this –

Maybe this table don’t express my filing about ProE, but for engineers, industrial designers and other mainly technical people ProE is best choice. Using another software for presentations is another thing. I am using both, Maya + Studio, but mainly Maya, because I finish almost whole design job into ProE. Another thing to discuss are exporting, importing and techniques for that.

PS Max is not on this list, and even lightwave, because I think that max are not in top levels categories like all those 3 packages are. Lightwave is in top 3 packages for animation, but like Ug in design field, he is powered by mainly different strategy of thinking, and because of that I didn’t put them on list (ovde nisam naveo ni Catiju jer bi to zahtevalo malo detaljnije objasnjenje o tome)
